Another surreal thing to happen today. Woz just talking to my hubbie about pancake day as a friends invited us round for pancake extravaganza evening (YUMMY)
I like mine covered in jam, folded over and then covered in hot custard.
Ooh, usually I have them just covered in sugar and lemon, but as a treat, they're great filled with cherries and ice-cream. Jubilee Pancake.... mmm, very appropriate this year methinks....
Karen makes lovely pancakes, she learnt how to make them when she was a teenager and doesn't need a recipe or any kind of measuring equipment (J beams with pride )
Anyway, has to be syrup, but lemon juice on pancake day.
Now don't laugh, but when I was about 11 my mum was in hospital for a few weeks and Dad would be working late, so I would cook for myself and younger bro. I delighted myself one night by making pancakes filled with baked beans, sausages and curry powder! My dad walked in to a bomb site with me kneeling on the work top trying to reach the top cupboard to get more curry powder.
