we too are having lilac and ivory with hints of silver! seems quite popular! our theme is leaves.....
the lilac comes from the fact my bm is a redhead and she loves lilac and it rdeally suits her so lilac it was!

Jo, we didn't really pick a colour scheme at all! It started with my dress, which is white and silver. So they became the main colours. The main reception room at the mansion is pinkish, and I showed a pic of it and my dress material to the florist and she came up with white and pick flowers. The invitations really match the dress again.

So we didn't have any colour stuff until I picked my dress, then everyone else (professionals I mean) told me what else would be good. The Best Woman is wearing whatever she likes - anything will go with silver and white!

Does this help?

Ta Vic-chick... Think I was having a slow day! Obviously have resisted the lure of wedding mags enough (or just live with eyes closed) to not notice that people tend to match things... Wow, co-ordinated BMs, invites, table decs...
Think I want dark purple and copper (ta Stace!), but if I know for almost certain that I will have some dark red in my dress (whenever I find "the one") is that going to clash? I kind of like red and purple together... Or don't brides have to match the colour scheme? My ceremony venue is neutral colours, but my reception place is kind of pale yellow... Tell me it'll be fine!!

I need help...

Jo

Our colour scheme is Emerald Green & Ivory (although we have got a bit of "blackwatch tartan" & purple involved!)

Ours was Lilac and gold, but the gold was only for decorating the hall, the two colours went really well together and was so pleased with it. I worried it would look daft with Martin in his red tunic and the bridesmaids in lilac but it looked great.
