Default Do you feel like you have to cover up on the big day?

I mean - tops of arms etc; is anyone feeling a bit bare in their dress or are you just going for it? :)

I felt like that when i was first looking online, before i actually tried anything on. I was looking at things with sleeves etc to cover up the tops of my arms. Once i started trying on dresses tho, i forgot all about it. The dress i have picked does have a lovely beaded stole with it, so i can use that if i feel too self concious on the day

If it wasn\'t for my tatoos I would have gone for something very similar to your dress Bev. I think they are beautiful and like Lynne says they look very nice with a wrap or stole, just adds to the elegence I think.

I also was searching high and low for a dress with sleeves, but try finding one in tropical Queensland!

Once I started tying them on I found that the ones with shoulder straps actually drew more attention to the tops of my arms. I admit I\'d love to do something about the flab on the tops of my arms before the day, but I think they may be beyond toning!

Hope you don\'t mind if i join in,i also felt very bare when trying dresses on.
I bought an elbow length veil and pulled it around me like a cape.

Hope you don\'t mind ~if I jump in here too! Bev, I think your forum is a fab idea. For my wedding day I\'m going with the notion - If you\'ve got it, flaunt it! My H2B wouldn\'t have it any other way.. there will be cleavage, shoulders, arms and thankfully the dress gives me a waist and hide my bum!

Welcome Cazz! :D

I like that idea - I was considering it myself (Mark insisted on mucho cleavage ;)) but the woman in the shop pointed out that due to my height everyone will be looking down at my chest all day copping an eyefull. And I can say that I would feel a little uncomfortable. So although mine is a strapless dress, the top kinda covers me over. :)

Cazz I hope you enjoy your stay with us here, we\'re a little different *coughs* to some of the other wedding forums.

Yay ! I think this is a great place. I\'m also getting addictated to message boards, something Scott (H2B) thinks is hillarious! I guess that at 5\'6\" I have a slight advantage! I guess that I\'ll be hyper to notice if anyone is oggling at my cleavage lol!

Me three! The one I\'ve chosen has boning all the way down to the top of my thighs, and then a full skirt that actually makes having a bigger bum an advantage. I wish all my clothes were like that.:D I sudenly have a hour glass figure, rather than a blobby one!

Hi! I am new to all of this forum stuff, so please be nice!
I am not all that ashamed of my ample size 20/22 figure, but I am having a coat made to go over my plain silver/grey dress. It will give it a bit of sparkle (it is embroidered) and will give me a little more confidence. It will be tulle, so not too hot in August, but I must admit I do need something to just cover my bumps a bit! ;)

Welcome Martha! :D

Have you any pics of your dress that you can share with us? I saw your post in the other thread about troublesome shopping experiences. :( But believe me there really are gorgeous designs for biggies out there - unfortunately we just have to go searching for them! And believe me with the right undies you wont have any lumps and bumps. ;)
