My invites have arrived! - Wedding Forum

Arrived home after a really stressful day at work to discover that our postie had delivered our invites!

We ordered them from Collisons and they were absolutely fantastic!

Just thought you might want to know just in case you were after suppliers?

The other thing to note is that if you order them from a John Lewis Store you get free cake boxes!
BARGAIN!

Have you started writing them out yet? Have you bought a special pen??!! (I bought 3; gold, silver & sparkly blue - only to discover that only the gold one could be seen properly!!! - More wasted money!!)

Not yet, but fortunately we have got the sample cards that they sent before they all went to print properly!

I will take the card with me to WHSmith and test out all the pens!

(alternatively, I might see if I can "confiscate" a gold pen from one of the kids at work 2moro (Im a teacher!)

PS I'm sure i'll be cursing them after having to stuff them in envelopes for hours, but its a novelty for now.

My gold pen was a smelly one (a nice smell not nasty!!!) But I bet none of my guests noticed!!!!
Are you sending out stamped addressed postcards for them to reply too? We did for the day invites, and v.glad we did, as the evening lot have been soooo sloooww in replying!!

Good idea! Obviously a little bit more expensive but worth it in the long run i think!

I think My M&D will probably end up being the hosts (stand back there may be some fireworks!) :uzi:

so they can write and post the cards!

(Mum's got nicer hand writing than me anyway!!!!!)

I have printed my own invitations. We are having scrolls tied with white and blue (

) ribbon.

I have spent the last 3 nights rolling and tying them, (And believe me, tying a tidy knot is not as easy as you might first think.) while H2B has sat on his bum watching the telly! :hmm:

Have to say, I have enjoyed it though and even if I do say so myself, I think they look great!

ours are weird - we've got envelopes that go inside the envelope plus envelopes for the reply cards. took me ages to work it all out.

Its so exciting when the cards arrive isn't it. Makes it seem more real some how!

We sent ours out on Saturday... now that was great - finally feel that the wedding is coming together. Writing the envelopes took ages though - trying to get your best handwriting....grrrr

I sent all mine out yesterday! Seems a bit early, but people are coming from all over the place so will have to make accomodation plans etc...

Was a great feeling dropping them all in the post box, all i have to do now is wait for the replies!
