Default Wedding outfit for tomorrow - advice please URGENTLY!

Well as you may have seen from anotherer thread I am going to a wedding tomorrow and decided on the long pink dress with the silver accessories. The only thing is that the forecast is HEAVY RAIN so I have been thinking that I may need to wear something else.
From the pictures it doesn't look like you can pull up right outside the church etc, so it will involve a bit of walking in open toe strappy stilletoes, and a long flowy shiny pink dress which will be blown all over the place and show every drop of rain, and possibly catch in puddles etc.
I would sooooo love to wear that outfit, but thought the following outfit would be more suitable:
The black and white dress on the link below with a crocheted cropped tie at the front white cardie I have just bought from ASDA, black (closed toe) shoes and black bag, and dangly black earings and necklace which look like they are almost antique (they're not, they're actually from debenhams)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I can't post pictures of the other things because Nick has taken the camera to work.
Do you think this would be OK, or do you think I would get away with the other outfit? Which would be more practical/appropriate?

xxx

Oh yes I like that. I'd say have both outfits ready and see what the weather's like in the morning. Is it a day and night do you're going to? If it's bad weather I'd be tempted to wear the shorter one in the daytime and change to the longer one for the night. That way you get to wear both and the pink one doesn't get ruined by the weather.

Have you still got doubts about the pink one after what you're sister said?

That sounds like a good idea Ang, about changing. Yes I am going to the day and night. The thing is that the reception isn't in a hotel and is about half an hour from our hotel, and I'm not sure if I would have anywhere to change other than the toilets. Will probably take both outfits though. And see how the weather is tomorrow and how I feel. And yes, I still have a few doubts in the back of my mind because of what my sister said

If you still have some doubts the chances are it'd prey on your mind and you might not feel as comfortable as you should in it. I've been in a situation where someone's made a comment to me about something that has been perfectly acceptable and suitable to wear but they've still felt the need to comment that they don't think it is. I've then spent the whole time I've been wearing it thinking omg is this ok, do I look alright etc. Really I've known it's been ok but just one comment has preyed on my mind and bugged me.

I personally love it and think you looked lovely in it but if you don't feel comfortable because of someone elses negative comments chances are all the positive comments in the world aren't going to removed that little niggle from your mind.

Why not try both of them on tonight and see which you feel most comfortable in. Ask Nick for his advice and see what he says. Or get a couple of pics when he's back with the camera and post them on here. There's usually someone about who'll be able to let you know what they think.

Thanks Ang - you always offer good advice.
Nick won't be home till later and then we have to leave almost straight away because it is a good 3 hours or so drive from here. He likes both the outfits and thinks the pink one is really nice - he doesn't see a problem with it. I will take both like you suggested and make my mind up tomorrow.

Have a good time and whichever you wear I'm sure you'll look lovely. And Nicks right the pink one is really nice. Your sister needs a good shake for putting doubt there over something that's spot on.
