Yes, I did, and have no regrets. I was lucky and found someone on Ebay who was selling a dress and lived in teh same town as me. The dress was called "jill" and it was in my size...it was fate! I loved the dress, and saed over £500, which we spent on other things...like the honeymoon. I did try mine on before I bought it though, and was lucky enough yo have very talented friends who sorted the length out for me...Thanks Nicola!

you could try www.almostnewweddingdresses.co.uk i had my dress listed on there for a while but not anymore. you view dresses and then there is a page to contact the seller and then the site forwards it to their email address and you get an email back from the seller
I looked everywhere for a nice second hand dress, but ended up on a site on e bay called cinderelas bridal shop..(thanks tweetiepie again.x) and bought a gorgeous dress for £125! and it was exactley the same as a maggie sottero one i had liked the look of!

you could also try some american or canadian websites for dresses. there was one that a few on here used but i think its not trading anymore, but i got my dress from canada, its a benjamin roberts and i ordered it from a canadian dress shop website that sells benjamins roberts dresses under their canadian name, Anjolique. depends how much you are looking to spend. i saved around £250 buying mine this way, but the dress still cost £500 brand new.
there are quite a few dresses for sale on www.almostnewweddingdresses.com but you really have to sift through them all. i had mine listed to sell on there but not anymore as my 6 month subscription ran out and i didnt renew it cos i didnt get any interest in it in the 6 months
That site looks good, but there's not many for sale?
I thought LOADS of brides would sell on but I'm not finding lots of choice (I'm just greedy )
Mary, I took a pic at your pics. Is that the dress that was £125? It's gorgeous! Looks LOADS more.
ahh thanks love, it felt totally perfect on the day, and i just got a local dressmaker to take the hem up a bit when it arrived! i wish id have bought my petticoat hoop off em too, as i ended up paying £60!!! i could have bought the same of there for about £10!!!!
best buy in the world!....(goes off to try and fit back into the bloody thing!!! )

I sold my wedding dress on ebay, and someone saved 1300 on the deal!
I wouldnt have any qualms whatsoever about a pre loved dress, I think its a great idea, there are tons of dresses for sale on ebay. Sometimes I want to buy one just to waltz around the house in
did u get much for ur dress on ebay rools if you dont mind my asking? i was thinking about putting mine on there but other nice dresses only seemed to be going for £100. i want about £250 for mine
I went to a great shop in Melbourne that had tons of dresses, couture and everything. I tried a few which were pretty good but not perfect, so didn't buy one from there.
There's an Australian wedding website where brides used to onsell their dresses online - www.weddingcentral.com.au
Prices are Aussie dollars (roughly divide by 3 to get pounds) and in Australian sizing (which I think is pretty much UK sizing). Worth a look I think - prices seem pretty reasonable to me.
Vic-chick is pretty accurate - an Aussie size 14 is a UK 16 roughly, but with wedding wear you sometimes have to buy bigger for it to fit accurately (because there's no WAY I was a size 20 when I got married!!!!).
Worth a try.

Jeez wedding dress sizes can be ridiculous!!! Cariad - a size 20!!!! Most definitely not!!!
If I was buying one second hand online (from a bride not a shop) I'd ask her for her measurements so you can get an idea if they are pretty close to yours.
That's one great thing about getting a dress made for you - there's never a size tag in it anywhere!
I sold my dress thru www.bridalexchange.co.uk (or.com, can't remember) - it had been worn once, cleaned and stored but we needed the money/space more. The lady who bought it got a bargain and my gorgeous dress got to re-live it's glory

I suppose £500 is not bad when ur dress cost probably close to 2000.. mine only cost me £500 as i got it shipped over from canada, although the UK price was close to £800. Do you think if i put it on ebay i could get £250 for it??
