Default Hey! All you Imeldas!

For all you shoe-fetishists...I've just read a list of the top 10 must-have shoes, so here goes (I've added UK shoes instead of the US selection they had):

1. A low heeled black shoe: For those times when a strappy sandal is inappropriate, or "too dressy" - like an early dinner, impromptu business meeting, or even a funeral, a low heeled, comfortable black shoe is essential to every woman's shoe collection.

2. A low heeled neutral shoe: Even with as versatile as black heels are, they simply will not go with everything. Add a neutral colored (not white!) heel to your collection, and you'll have the the "basic heel" category of women's shoes covered.

3. A semi-casual flat shoe: You'll want a shoe that can look cute with jeans, but not so casual that you couldn't wear nicer trousers with it too.

4. A classic high-heeled black shoe: Nothing too strappy, nothing too clunky - remember these are the basics - but a black, dressy high heel is definitely an essential. For wardrobe staples, get fabric uppers as they're typically more versatile than leather or patent.

5. A metallic high-heeled shoe: There are some dress outfits that a black shoe just won't work with. For those, try a metallic, basic-but-killer dress shoe, - ideal for pastels and whites.

6. The 'everyday' shoe: Only you can be the judge of what will work best as your "every day" shoe, but whether it's a trainer, a loafer or a flip-flop, comfort, fit and style should be key in choosing the right shoes for your everyday wear.

7. A sneaker/tennis shoe whatever...: Again, the choice is yours, but whether it's a little white pointy sneaker, or an edgy, retro high top, every wardrobe needs a sneaker. This it's perfect for days in the park, or late weekend breakfasts.

8. A heeled casual shoe: Nothing can dress up a casual outfit, and make you feel better about yourself, like adding a bit of height. Look for a casual shoe with a bit of a heel for times when you want to be comfortable and chic.

RAVEL Shoes: Womens Collection -

9. A tall boot: Whether it's a high-heeled fashion boot, or a warm and comfy casual style, colder weather screams for boots. Plus, depending on the style you choose, everything from short skirts to jeans can look fantastic with them. Every woman's wardrobe should have at least one pair.

10. Slippers!!: I'm not talking about "glamorous" slippers here. I'm talking about, after a shower, sitting around in your bathrobe, talking on the phone kind of slippers. After all, whatever shoes you wear during the day, you're feet will appreciate being pampered at night.

Good to see you have a good 'capsule' shoe collection then!!

I think I need a pair of those metallic ones. Nice.

I know - you, like me, are learning the subtle difference between 'low' and 'flat'....I have a pair of heeled Kenneth Cole boots that I absolutely adore (because for once a pair of boots fit over my chunky calves), but can I walk in them?? Only if I don't go out on my own & have someone to hang on to for support...

I love shoes, but my top ten would be full of back breaking, take-em-off-halway-through-the-day styles!
