Default Anyone special, unusual, original to give advice on dresses

Anyone not getting married in traditional white/ivory, wedding kindda dress?
Maybe even in a suit?
In trousers?
Or in a very special color?
:?::?::?:

Hi there Gothbride! Meet a kindred spirit.

I will be wearing a dark purple skirt & top - a V-shaped corseted bodice with a floaty long skirt (which hangs sort of straight). No trains, veils etc. Lots of silver jewellery and lace-up boots underneath.

What sort of things are you thinking of wearing?

(Don't worry about what other people think - at the end of the day it's YOU getting married - not them - so you have to happy in what you wear - regardless of what it is!)

Smile At least I found what I'm looking for!!!

[color=purple]
Just a few days ago I was still huming to the tune "...and I still have'nt found what I'm looking for" ...

But it is all past now as I HAVE FOUND MINE TOO!!!
And How goods it feels, I must admit...

So my dress is a vintage straight cut evening gown, with a slight V shape collar, it is light ivory (me who wanted something different, L.oL.) But it has a beautiful hand painted flower print on the bottom front of the dress... sigh... It is very classy... and different too.
It has been bought in London in the 60's, and been given to me yesterday from my h2b ' Norwegian Gran'Mother - a wonderful woman, really special lady who has such great taste in fashion.

I have often read that it is lucky to get a dress that is borrowed from an happily married woman, and his Grann is the most wonderful being I know in my whole life she raised her family with so much courage, and always stayed beautiful, just like a lady she has the kindest heart of all, she does.

so there, I just need to have it dry cleaned and slightly altered of a cm for the bust, we are really almost teh same size
And then I 'll get a picture of it to post it on internet.

I am so happy all this stress about finding something like "me" (I was not at ease in any dress and went trhough hundreds...) I never came across purple dresses at all, otherwise...

Well enough ink... Goth bride will walk proudly on the day amongst the guests towards Mr Goth Groom, looking very Goth, lol.

When do you get married? (us 25-05-02) sooooon

Im having a purple dress too!!! I make jewellery so Ill be making lots to wear with it. I've ditched the veil idea too - I've bought a load of silver chiffon fabric that Im goin to sew beads all over and make into a wrap - none of that boring old whit for me!!!

Well done for being different!!

Goth Bride - we changed the boards over about a month or so ago - the old board was useless so we bought a license for a bteer one. In the change over we could add all the old posts but not the pictures. So you will see a lot of strange looking threads around!

I've just posted a pic of my dress in the main forum (two pics actuall ) if your still interested.

Alicedee42069, try http://www.thedarkangel.com click on catalogue and then gowns. I would probably have had them make up a dress for me had I known about them when I was dress shopping.
